A notable development was made in 1991 when Ssangyong formed a partnership with Mercedes-Benz, allowing them to utilise Mercedes' impressive technology in their cars.
Ssangyong undercut most of their competition with their value for money and their seven-year warranty, only comparable to that of Kia. Models such as the Skoda Karoq and Nissan Qashqai compete against the south-Korean manufacturer but are just slightly overshadowed by the warranty and prices available.
